What are dashboards

Dashboards are table views in Crownbeam that give you an overview of your orders. You can see at a glance what status an order is in, how urgent it is, and when shipping is due.

The most important dashboard is All Orders — it opens automatically whenever you click Home. At the top of the home screen, you'll also find four colored tiles, each opening a specialized dashboard for a specific area of your workflow.

There are also further dashboards, which you open via Dashboards in the navigation bar.

The four tiles and what they mean

🟢 Green — New Orders

The green tile shows newly received orders. It's split into two areas:

  • New orders: Orders placed directly in Crownbeam by practices.

  • New scans: Scanner orders that came in via an integration and still need to be assigned to a practice.

🔵 Blue — Production

The blue tile gives you an overview of all orders currently at the lab. It's split into two areas:

  • In lab: All orders that have been accepted and are at the lab — regardless of whether they're already being worked on.

  • In production: Only orders that are actively being worked on.

🟣 Purple — Logistics

The purple tile handles everything around pickup and shipping. It's split into two areas:

  • For pick-up: Orders with an analog impression that still need to be picked up.

  • For dispatch: Orders that are finished and waiting to be shipped.

🔴 Red — Due Today

The red tile shows orders where shipping is time-critical. It's split into two areas:

  • Due today: Orders whose shipping date is today.

  • Overdue: Orders where the shipping date and time have already passed.

Further dashboards

Via Dashboards in the navigation bar, you'll find further specialized views that Crownbeam ships with by default.

MDR

Shows all orders along with the material batches used in each — for MDR material batch tracing. This lets you quickly trace which orders a particular material was used in. More on this in Understanding MDR material batch tracing.

Open Tasks

Shows all tasks for every team member at the lab — with practice, patient, responsible person, and shipping date. More on this in Track tasks.

My Tasks

Shows only the tasks of the currently logged-in user. More on this in Track tasks.

How to search, filter, and sort a dashboard

Search

In the top left of the dashboard you'll find the search field. Type a patient name, an order number, or other terms there — the table filters instantly to matching entries. The search function can only search information that's shown in the dashboard's columns.

Filter

Next to the Status column header, you'll find the Filter icon. Expand it to see what's currently being filtered — and, for example, to also show completed orders.

The Shipping date and Treatment date columns also have their own date filter. Click the calendar icon next to the relevant column header to show only orders for a specific day or period — for example via the quick options Today or Tomorrow, or by marking a period in the calendar itself and confirming with Apply.

Filter settings — for example by status — are saved and remain when you next open the dashboard. Sorting, however, is not saved and has to be set again after reloading the page.

Sorting

In the top right of the dashboard, you'll find Sorting. You can sort the table by various criteria — for example by shipping date descending, to see the most urgent orders first.

Tip: You can also display dashboards in a large view on a monitor or TV at the lab. Learn how in the article Display orders on a TV/monitor.

Customize a dashboard

The columns in a dashboard are fixed by default — you can't add, remove, or change them yourself. The Crownbeam support team takes care of this on request, similar to customizing the case sheet.

This works both ways: you can have an extra column set up if something is missing for you — for example practitioner, type of work, or material name in the MDR dashboard (there, the material name currently isn't its own column, which is why searching for it doesn't work directly). Likewise, you can have a column hidden that isn't relevant for you, such as the shipping date if you don't handle shipping yourself.

Write to [email protected] and describe which column you'd like, or which one you no longer want to see.

Note: Since search, filter, and sort only work on visible columns, a newly added column automatically becomes searchable too. The customization may involve a fee.

FAQs

Where do I find the "All Orders" dashboard?

The "All Orders" dashboard opens automatically when you click Home. It shows you all your lab's orders in a table view.

What's the difference between "In lab" and "In production"?

"In lab" shows all orders that have been accepted and are at the lab — whether they're already being worked on or still waiting. "In production" shows only the orders that are actively in the "In progress" status.

Why doesn't an order show up in the dashboard I expected?

Each dashboard only shows orders in certain statuses. Check via the Filter icon next to the status column which statuses are currently active — the status you're looking for might be hidden.

Can I change the displayed columns in a dashboard myself?

The columns in a dashboard are fixed by default and can't be edited yourself. If you'd like to add a column — for example for practitioner, type of work, or material name — or have a column like the shipping date hidden, the Crownbeam support team can set that up for you. Just write to [email protected].

How do I find a specific patient or order?

You can find a specific patient or order via the search field in the top left of the dashboard. Type in the patient name or order number there — the table filters instantly to matching entries. The search only draws on information shown in the dashboard's columns. If you can't find the order you're looking for, check via the Filter icon next to the Status column whether the relevant status is currently hidden.
