What are Open Tasks and My Tasks?

Under Dashboards in the top navigation bar, you'll find two views that give you an overview of work in progress at the lab: Open Tasks and My Tasks. Both show tasks that have been assigned to orders — but from different perspectives.

Open Tasks — the overview for the whole lab

Open Tasks shows all tasks from every team member at the lab. At a glance, you see:

  • Practice — which practice the order is for

  • Last Name — which patient is involved

  • Task — which task is assigned to the order (e.g. CAD, Model, CAM)

  • Who — which team member is responsible for this task

  • Shipping date — how urgent the order is (red = overdue, orange = due soon)

Tip: Open Tasks is especially useful for an overview as lab management — you immediately see where things are tight and who's working on what.

My Tasks — the personal view

My Tasks shows only the tasks assigned to the currently logged-in user. Every team member sees exclusively their own work list here — no tasks from other team members. In addition to practice, patient, and shipping date, this view also shows you where you currently are in the workflow (e.g. CAD).

Once you've finished a task, click the gray checkmark icon in the row — the task is marked as done and jumps to the next task saved in the order.

Note: You can also mark tasks as done directly in the order — the result is the same.

FAQs

What's the difference between Open Tasks and My Tasks?

Open Tasks shows all tasks from every team member at the lab — ideal for the overall overview. My Tasks shows only the tasks of the currently logged-in user — ideal for your personal work status.

Why do I see fewer entries in My Tasks than in Open Tasks?

My Tasks automatically filters to your user. Tasks assigned to other team members aren't shown there.

How do I recognize urgent orders?

The shipping date is color-coded in both views: red means overdue, orange means due soon. This way you immediately see which orders need to be handled first.

What happens when I click the checkmark?

The task is marked as done and disappears from My Tasks. It's also no longer visible in Open Tasks — the order itself, of course, remains.
