Available user permissions

Crownbeam has two separate permission systems: one for lab accounts and one for practice accounts. Which permissions you see and can assign depends on whether you manage a lab team or a practice team.

User permissions at the lab

In Crownbeam, you can individually grant or revoke the following permissions for every team member at the lab:

Permission

What it allows

Access Organization Settings (Admin)

Access to all business settings – e.g. shipment details, Team

Access Client Management

Invite and manage practices

Access Product Catalog

View and edit indications and catalogs, and assign them to clients

Create New Order

Create new orders at the lab

Change Deadlines

Adjust shipping and treatment dates in existing orders and set them in new orders

Write Chat Messages

Communicate with the practice via chat in an order

Delete

Allows deleting orders as well as files you've uploaded yourself. More on this in Delete an order and Delete files.

User permissions at the practice

These permissions only apply to practice accounts. In Crownbeam, you can individually grant or revoke the following permissions for every team member at the practice:

Permission

What it allows

Access Organization Settings (Admin)

Access to all practice settings

Create New Order

Create new orders at the practice

Write Chat Messages

Communicate with the lab via chat in an order

Delete

Allows deleting your own order drafts as well as files you've uploaded yourself. More on this in Delete an order and Delete files.

How to adjust user permissions

The steps are identical for labs and practices — which permissions you see depends on the account type.

  1. Open the Settings via the gear icon in the top right.

  2. Under My Business, select Team.

  3. Find the team member you want in the list.

  4. Check or uncheck the boxes for the permissions you want.

  5. The change is saved automatically.

Note: Only users with the Access Organization Settings (Admin) permission can manage user permissions.

FAQs

A team member can't change appointments — what should I do?

The Change Deadlines permission isn't enabled for this user. Under Settings → My Business → Team, open the relevant user and check the box for Change Deadlines.

A team member can't create new orders — what should I do?

Check whether the Create New Order permission is enabled for this user, and check the box if needed.

Who can change user permissions?

Only users with the Access Organization Settings (Admin) permission enabled have access to team management.

What user permissions are available for practices?

A practice has four permissions: Access Organization Settings (Admin), Create New Order, Write Chat Messages, and Delete. That's fewer permissions than at a lab, since practices don't need access to client management or the product catalog, for example.

Is the "Delete" permission the same at a lab and at a practice?

No. They're separate settings with the same name. The lab's Delete permission allows deleting placed orders and files uploaded at the lab. The practice's Delete permission only allows deleting your own order drafts and files uploaded by the practice itself.
