Overview
Orders in Crownbeam can be deleted — but not everyone can delete every order. It depends on whether you're logged in as a practice or a lab, and on the order's current status.
Role | What can be deleted |
Practice | Only drafts — orders that haven't been placed yet. |
Lab | Placed orders can only be deleted by the lab. |
Deleting in the lab requires the right permission. An admin can grant it under Settings → Team. More on this in Manage user permissions.
How to delete an order as a lab
Open the order you want to delete.
Click the three-dot icon in the top right.
Select Delete order from the submenu.
Important: The user needs permission to delete orders. If your account doesn't have this permission, the Delete order entry isn't available — reach out to an admin at your lab.
How to delete a draft as a practice
As a practice, you can only delete drafts — orders you haven't placed yet. Once an order has been placed, only the lab can delete it.
Grant delete permission
For a lab team member to be able to delete orders, their account needs the corresponding permission. It's granted by an admin at the lab.
Open Settings → Team.
Select the user who should get the permission.
Enable the permission to delete orders by checking the Deletion rights box.
FAQs
Why can't I delete an order?
If the Delete order entry doesn't appear in the three-dot menu, your account is missing the necessary permission. Ask an admin at your lab — they can grant it under Settings → Team.
Can I restore an order I deleted by mistake?
Before you delete an order, double-check whether it's really necessary. Restoring a deleted order isn't directly possible in Crownbeam.
