What this is useful for
Connect related orders together when they belong to each other in content
Keep a better overview when several orders belong to one shared case
Add to existing orders retroactively, without having to create them again
How to connect orders together
Open the order you want to connect to another order
Click the three-dot icon in the top right
Select Connect to another order from the submenu
Enter the Crownbeam order ID of the other order in the window that opens
Confirm the entry
Once confirmed, the two orders are connected together
Note: The connection is always set from the perspective of the order you currently have open. The current order gets connected to the order whose number you enter.
How the connection works
Orders are managed in Crownbeam as a group — not just in pairs. If two orders are already connected and you add a third, it automatically joins the same group. You don't need to connect it to every single order individually — connecting it to any one member of the group is enough.
Example
Orders 51525 and 118719 are already connected together. You want to add order 127570 to the group:
Open order 127570
Click Connect to another order
Enter 51525 or 118719 — either number is enough
Order 127570 is now connected to both other orders.
FAQs
Can orders be connected after the fact?
In Crownbeam you can connect existing orders together at any time afterward. There's no need to connect them when creating the order.
Where do I find the connect function?
You'll find it in the open order, in the top right, under the three-dot icon submenu.
What do I need to connect two orders?
You need the order number of the other order. It's shown at the top of the header in each order.
Do I have to connect a new order to every existing one individually?
No. If several orders are already connected as a group, it's enough to connect the new order to a single member of the group. It automatically joins the entire group.
What happens after confirming?
Once you've entered and confirmed the order number, the orders are connected together and managed as a group.
