Overview
If your lab is closed on a public holiday or during company holidays, you need to enter these days in Crownbeam. Crownbeam then skips them in the shipping calculation — just like weekends. How Crownbeam calculates shipping and treatment dates is described in How dates are calculated in Crownbeam.
Note: Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) are blocked automatically and don’t need to be entered manually.
How to enter non-working days
Open the Settings via the gear icon in the top right.
Under My Business, select Opening Times.
In the calendar, click the days on which your lab is closed.
Clicked days turn red — from now on they are skipped in the date calculation.
Tip: Ideally, enter public holidays and company holidays for the whole year at the start of the year — that way the practice always gets correct date suggestions.
What happens if a day is not entered?
If a public holiday or company holiday is not entered in Crownbeam, the system calculates as if that day were a normal working day. The practice then sees date suggestions that include this day — and you have to adjust the order manually. You set up the shipping date calculation under Configure shipment details.
Tip: If you block a day retroactively, orders that have already been created are not adjusted automatically. Check affected orders manually.
FAQs
Do I have to enter weekends?
No. Saturdays and Sundays are always skipped automatically — you don’t need to enter them manually.
Can I unblock days I’ve already blocked?
Yes. Click a red-marked day in the calendar again — it will be unblocked and treated as a working day in the date calculation.
Do retroactively blocked days affect existing orders?
No. Orders that have already been created are not adjusted automatically. New orders take the blocked day into account correctly right away.
