Overview
The Subscription & Usage page shows two sections as a lab: your Orders Subscription shows how many orders you have already used in your current billing period, and your Storage Subscription shows your current storage usage. This article explains both sections.

Orders Subscription
Your Orders Subscription shows how many orders you, as a lab, have already used in your current billing period.
Which orders count toward your Orders Subscription?
Your Orders Subscription counts every order that you, as a lab, have received and accepted. An order counts as soon as it has one of the following statuses, and keeps counting afterwards no matter how far along it is:
Status | Counts toward the subscription |
Accepted | Yes |
In-Progress | Yes |
On-Hold | Yes |
Preparing Shipment | Yes |
In-Delivery | Yes |
Completed | Yes |
So what matters is the moment you accept the order. From then on, it stays counted for that billing period.
Which orders don’t count?
Orders you haven’t accepted yet, or that were rejected, don’t count toward your Orders Subscription:
Status | Counts toward the subscription |
Draft | No |
CE Requested | No |
CE Created | No |
Ordered, but not yet accepted | No |
Rejected | No |
Two more cases never count either:
Orders that you, as a lab, forward to another lab yourself. These count for the lab that receives them, not for you.
Orders that were never placed.
Which billing period counts?
The billing period depends on when the practice placed the order, not on when you accept it. For example: your billing period runs from March 15 to April 15. A practice places an order on April 10, and you accept it on April 12. The order still counts toward the March/April period, because the order was placed within that period.
Monthly plan: The period matches your monthly billing period.
Annual plan: Orders are still counted per month. Each counting month starts on the same calendar day as your plan. For example, if your annual plan starts on the 15th, each counting month runs from the 15th to the 15th of the following month.
Note: Once a billing period ends, its final count is locked in and won’t change afterwards. Counting starts again at 0 in the new period.
Order groups: a group counts only once
An order group is created when several orders belong together, for example several work steps for the same case. For counting toward your Orders Subscription:
The whole group counts as a single order, no matter how many individual orders it contains.
The group counts as soon as at least one order in the group is accepted, meaning it has one of the statuses from the Which orders count toward your Orders Subscription section.
The billing period is determined by the date the first order in the group was placed. If more orders are added later, even in a later month, they don’t count again.
How to read the display
You find the details of your Orders Subscription in the Orders Subscription section on the Subscription & Usage page.
At the top of the section, you see the name of your subscription plan.
Under Current monthly usage, you first see your billing period. Below that, the display shows, for example, "12 / 50 orders" with the percentage on the right. This means 12 out of 50 orders in your plan have been used in this period.
The percentage can go above 100 %, but the bar itself stops at 100 %.
Last updated shows when the number was last calculated.
At the bottom right of the section, you find the Upgrade plan button.
Note: The data is updated once a day. So an order you accept today usually only shows up in the count the following day.
Colors and notices by usage level
How much of your Orders Subscription you’ve used determines the color and notices on the page:
Usage | Bar | Notice banner | Pop-up window |
under 95 % | Blue | – | – |
95 % to 105 % | Orange | "Your order limit is almost reached." | – |
over 105 % | Red | "Your order limit is used up." | "Order limit exceeded" |
Notice banner
The banner appears at the top of every page as long as your usage is at 95 % or more.
The "Upgrade plan" button in the banner takes you directly to the Subscription & Usage page.
Pop-up window (over 105 %)
The window shows how many orders you’ve used, for example: "You’ve used 53 out of 50 orders in the current billing period."
With "Continue anyway" you close the window and keep working as usual. It reappears on your next page visit as long as you’re over the limit.
With "Upgrade plan" you go directly to the Subscription & Usage page and can choose a larger package there.
Tip: The pop-up window doesn’t appear on the Subscription & Usage page itself or while switching plans, so it doesn’t get in your way there.
Storage Subscription
Your Storage Subscription shows how much storage you, as a lab, are already using. In the Storage Subscription section, you see your current plan, for example Free storage plan, along with how much storage it includes, for example up to 1 TB. Below that, Current storage usage shows your used volume, for example "20.38 GB / 1024 GB", together with the usage percentage and a bar. At the bottom right of the section, you find the upgrade button.
FAQs
Does an order count if I forward it to another lab myself?
An order that you, as a lab, forward to another lab yourself doesn’t count toward your Orders Subscription. It counts for the lab that receives it instead.
Why don’t I see an order I just accepted in the count yet?
The count on the Subscription & Usage page is updated once a day. So an order you accept today usually only shows up in the display the following day.
